The Choo Bee Group has a humble beginning as a scrap metal trader operating from a shared shop lot in the mid 1940s. We have since expanded to become one of the leading steel tube and pipe manufacturer and distributor of steel products in Malaysia with over 300 employees and having multi location plants and units. With more than five decades of experience in the steel industry the Choo Bee Group has diversified business interest in the domestic and international market. The Choo Bee Group is dedicated to offer a comprehensive range of steel products and have equipped distribution centre in Ipoh, Klang and Sabah. These have facilitated us to bring our products close to our customers. Our products of superior quality are widely used in the processing, energy, manufacturing, fabrication and construction industries.
Flagship Company
The flagship company of the group, Choo Bee Metal Industries Bhd. which is listed on the main board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange is an ISO 9001 certified company manufacturing ERW pipes to various International standards. Choo Bee Metal Industries Berhad owns a manufacturing plant in Ipoh, situated in Pengkalan Industrial Estates with a total production of 200,000 metric tonnes per annum. Choo Bee Metal Industries Berhad’s tube mills and service centre processes hot/cold rolled coils, galvanized coils and stainless steel coils into products from 1/2″ tubes to 18″ diameter steel pipe, lip channel, cut to length sheets, blanks and slitted coils.
As a leading player in the steel industry, the Choo Bee Group continues to spearhead industry innovation while staying committed to its core values. We have become long known for our emphasis on quality and service and we have consistently delivered on our promise of supplying quality steel and reliable service.

As our business grew, we moved into our first office building located at

We established our first Subsidiary company, which is also our first trading arm, Choo Bee Hardwares Sdn Bhd and began trading steel and hardware
products related to tin mining industry.

Choo Bee was incorporated as private limited company
under the name of Choo Bee Metal Industries Sdn Bhd.
We opened our first manufacturing plant in
Tasek Industrial Estate (total land area 4.25 acres)
and commenced operation by producing mild steel plates.
1973
Our big break came when we decided to redirect our business
focus from tin mining industry to construction industry.

We established our second subsidiary, Taik Bee Foundry Sdn Bhd, which provided fabrication services to our customers.

We acquired our first warehouse in

Menglembu Plant
When the production demand increased further,
we established our Second Manufacturing Plant at
Menglembu Industrial Estate (total land area 2.3 acres)
and commenced operation by producing decor pipes.
1992
To accommodate listing requirement, we converted
to a public company under the name
Choo Bee Metal Industrial Berhad.
1994
Our Menglembu Plant increased its product range
to produce flat bars.
We opened our third manufacturing plant at
Pengkalan Industrial Estate (total land area of 30 acres)
to accommodate the increasing demand.
At the same year, the company was listed on the Main Board
of Bursa Malaysia on 12 October 1994.
1996
We obtained Product Certification License
for our Galvanished Pipe (Welded Steel Pipe)
from SIRIM.

Menglembu Plant focused on producing stainless steel products.
2002
The opening of our Steel Servicing Centre in
Pengkalan Plant, marked a new chapter in our corporate
history as we are able to provide custom made products to
meet our customers’ requirement such as
shearing & slitting of coils.
2003
We were being awarded the SMI Achiever Award 2003
for our outstanding performance as a listed company.
2004
We obtained ISO 9001:2000 Certification on 12 February 2014.
To realise our vision as a One-Stop Steel Centre for our customers,
we embarked on another expansion plan at our Pengkalan Plant,
which is our RM40 million investment into 16″ diameter
pipes for construction, water, oil & gas industries.
